We launched the Alternative Education Provision in 2024 and has proved to be positive and successful for young people who are disengaged from mainstream school.
Based in the heart of Chester-le-Street, County Durham, We Support pupils with social and emotional needs. We offer bespoke programmes for those who are disengaged from mainstream education or require additional help. Our unique and inclusive environment is ideal for one-on-one and small group learning, so every pupil gets the focus and care they need.
We also support children and young people who are persistently absent from education and for whom a traditional classroom setting may not be appropriate. In these cases, we can offer personalised tutoring, outreach and community-based sessions.

Our multidisciplinary approach enables us to design structured, individualised programmes that prioritise safety, engagement, and meaningful progression for each young person.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss how we can support a current or upcoming referral.
Suitable for KS3 and KS4 students, our educational programme is built around nurturing self-confidence in pupils and helping them learn and develop core skills, including life skills and work readiness. We focus on both skill development and practical and enterprise-based activities to develop and expand learners’ interests.

Each pupil will work at a stage appropriate to their age and ability. The curriculum offers a good balance in developing the skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). KS4 pupils also have the option to either pursue a Functional Skills qualification or prepare to take their GCSE exam at home school.
Our Head of Education is a qualified teacher with more than 25 years’ experience in delivering maths and English to students of all ages and stages.
